Dr. Worfolk completed his Optometry Degree at Bradford University and after practicing for some years in South Yorkshire he went to UMIST to undertake a PhD in normal and abnormal eye movement control. Ralph completed three years post doctoral research for the Medical Research Council at the Institute of Neurology in London before returning to optometry practice (via a spell of overseas work in Jamaica). He joined the staff at Smith & Walker in 1997 & loves what he does. He is experienced in Gas permeable contact lens fitting and has always had a passion for technology & staying up to date with the latest equipment & innovations.
Mr Wyndham studied Optometry at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. After working in Australia he came to the UK. He has additionally completed the UK Professional Glaucoma Certificate. He is a member of the British College of Optometrists, the Association of Optometrists & the British Contact Lens Association. By night he moonlights as a musician.
Dr Lisa Skaff graduated from the University of Waterloo Optometry program in Ontario, Canada. During her study she completed a residency in Ocular Disease in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. In the UK she has completed the Ocular Therapeutics Independent Prescribing course for treating Ocular Disease. This allows easier access to complete eyecare for visitors to Smith & Walker. She is a member of the British College of Optometrists, & the British Association of Optometrists.
Mr Green is our frame & lenses expert! He has a wealth of experience in eyecare & can lead you to the best lenses & most suitable & stylish frames. With his experience & enthusiasm he will not be satisfied until you find glasses that you love to wear & provide the best vision & comfort possible. All done with his infectious energy!
Mrs Cottingham studied Optometry at Manchester University. She is Minor Eyecare Services accredited. She provides complete eye care for children to seniors. Member of the College of Optometrists and Association of Optometrists.
Dawn started working in Optics 30 years ago and qualified in 1996 and is a member of the Association of Dispensing Opticians. She is a people person and loves working in the friendly, community feel the Smith & Walker practices provide. Professionally she takes pride in selecting from the best quality materials to help every patient find their perfect frame and lenses. Family life keeps her busy away from work but she regularly attends Pilates and Book group, and when able loves to get out walking with whichever family members she can persuade.
Cath became a qualified dispensing optician in July 1994 and has 29 years of optical experience, nearly as much as Chris! Similarly she shares a passion to help patients choose modern stylish spectacles combined with the best vision and comfort possible. Cath is often seen at seminars learning about the latest advances and innovations in lens and frame design. She is a member of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians.
Becci has worked in optics for over 20 years. She studied at Bradford university and is a member of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians, and has worked for Smith & Walker for 10 years. Becci enjoys meeting new people and keeps up to date with the latest frame fashion trends and lens technology. She prides herself on dispensing spectacles that are not only modern and fashionable but are practical and a comfortable fit in the hope that the patient walks out the door happy with the advice and expertise. In her spare time Becci likes spending time with her family , going to the beach for long walks with her dog and is into fitness. This counteracts the effects of her other favourite pastime of going out and sampling different culinary experiences.
